Founded in 2026 by Benji Heinke, Hotel Soap is an independent label rooted in industrial postmodernism, pop art and post-punk aesthetics. Taking its name from a 2009 Guardian article on the strange moral logic of music piracy, it draws inspiration from the visual and cultural worlds built by labels such as DFA, Factory and Domino. Hotel Soap exists as a home for authored records, moving image and release design, treating music not simply as content but as a cultural object with its own atmosphere, context and material presence.
